Developing commercial products from innovation projects – that was one of the focus topics of the annual General Assembly of the BRIDGE initiative. The event took place in Brussels on 25-26 March 2025, with more than 60 Horizon Europe-projects represented – including TwinEU.
This years edition draw a lot of parallels between the competitiveness goals of the EU, and the need for commercilaization and market uptake of the exploitable results coming out of Horizon-projects. Furthermore, the high majority of the presentations at the General Assembly mentioned at least, or revolved around the possibilities of generative AI. It is not only one of the hottest topics in the smart energy industry, but also the new EU policies are formulated to support its utilization in the European framework.

Projects’ legacy is gaining importance, strongly correlating with the need for commercialization. For this reason, there are more and more platforms in place (e.g. BRIDGE Use Case Repository) to facilitate use of project results even after their conclusion. This resonates strongly with TwinEU, which builds on the results of previous Horizon-projects, such as OneNet.
